Greg's Marine Service

In my travels I have pretty much driven the entire U.S. West Coast. While the Pacific Coast Highway is spectacular through California and the Washington coast is amazing, by far my favorite drive is US-101 down the Oregon coast. From Astoria to Brookings and all the towns and stops in between is it is a truly breathtaking drive.

One of my favorite places is a little fishing village about 10 miles north of Tillamook called Garibaldi. Tucked in on the northern end of Tillamook Bay it is not as touristy as Seaside, Cannon Beach or Lincoln City but therein lies its charm.

The Port of Garibaldi features a marina, RV Park, and a few restaurants and shops featuring freshly caught fish and seafood. The Garibaldi Marina houses both work and pleasure boats and is home to several ocean-going charter vessels.

But within the protected waters of Tillamook Bay there is plenty of crab and fish to be had, as well as bird watching and taking in the natural beauty of the area. The marina was seeking a fleet of rental boats to fulfill this need. They contacted our exclusive Marlon boat dealer on the northern Oregon coast, Gregg's Marine Service, also located in Garibaldi.

They ended up ordering 10 of our Marlon 16' welded utility boats because it fills and exceeds all their needs. Impressed with the all-welded (not riveted) hull, the deep-V for safety, the unique bench design and the EVA foam padding on the seats that provides comfort and a sharp look. Outfitted with 9.9HP outboard engines they found these boats to be a perfect addition to its rental fleet.

Our welded utility boats come in a 12', 14', and 16' model. In addition, Marlon also produces 10', 12', and 14' welded-hull Jon Boats. Extra beamy (wide) so perfect for duck hunters, fly fisherman or just knocking around in lakes, ponds, and reservoirs.

If you are in the area and are interested in seeing the Marlon boat lineup, be sure to stop by Greg's Marine Service, 409 E. Garibaldi Ave, Garibaldi, Oregon, 97118. Phone 503-322-3643.
